Dr. Sandra Barrett is a physiatrist, certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The discipline of physical medicine and rehabilitation focuses on restoring lost functions to patients who are non-surgical candidates experiencing musculoskeletal problems. Dr. Barrett has a special interest in Electromyography and Nerve Conduction Studies - commonly referred to as EMG Testing as well as in the rehabilitation of patients with diagnoses of stroke, musculoskeletal impairments and amputations.

Dr. Barrett received her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, New York.

Dr. Barrett believes that each patient's individualized goals are the central, indispensible part of any successful rehabilitation process. She feels that trust and complete confidence are essential to the physician/patient relationship.

In addition to the care that she provides at Kansas Orthopaedic Center, Dr. Barrett serves on the staff of Via Christi Health System, Wesley Medical Center and Surgery Center of Kansas.

Dr. Barrett is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and the National Stroke Association.

Away from the office, Dr. Barrett enjoys island hopping and spending time with her two sons, David and Wesley.
